Siam Niramit is one of Thailand's grandest stage productions — a purpose-built theatre where a cast of around 100 performs "Journey to the Enchanted Kingdom of Siam", a show that dramatises roughly seven centuries of Thai history, belief and celebration. It opened in Phuket in 2011, and after the pandemic the complex was renovated and the show revamped, reopening in October 2022.

The show is a feast of technical spectacle: more than 500 lavish traditional costumes, some 100 hand-painted backdrops, aerial performers flying above the stage, and effects from thunder and rain to a forestage that transforms into a lake for the closing festival scene. The performance takes place in a grand 1,740-seat theatre with a vast stage — wide, deep and several storeys tall — designed for big sets, aerial work and the water effects of the finale. Photography isn't permitted during the show itself, which keeps the spectacle uninterrupted.

Grounds to explore before the show

Arrive early: the grounds recreate model villages from Thailand's four regions, with a floating market, craftsmen's workshops showing traditional handicrafts, and a Naga courtyard where you can try Thai games. It's an easy, atmospheric way to fill the hour before curtain.

Show, dinner or the full package

Tickets come in tiers: show admission on its own, or bundles that add an international-and-Thai buffet dinner at the on-site restaurant and hotel transfers. Choose the level that suits your evening when you book.

Getting there

The complex is in Phuket City, on the road toward the airport, a drive from the western beaches like Patong, Karon and Kata.
